about the Audi R8

The prestige object, still under the management of Martin Winterkorn, definitely sets standards. Provocatively aggressive looks meet motorsport roots. The result is the fastest and most expensive car in the company’s history. The design of the mid-engine sports car is based on the Le Mans quattro study and the  Audi RSQ , known from the Hollywood film „I Robot“.

Sales of the  Audi R8 began  in Germany in April 2007. Initially as a coupe in the 4.2 liter V8 FSI version with an impressive 420 hp and 430 Nm between 4500 and 6000 rpm ^. The Audi has a top speed of 300 km/h. An experience that every car lover must have at least once in their life.  Driving an Audi R8  is not just a simple way of getting around, it is an unforgettable experience.

In 2012, the R8 received a major facelift. It will continue to be offered as a coupe and a spyder. Technical improvements include the S-tronic dual-clutch transmission, which offers significantly shorter shift times, revised LED headlights as standard, optically modified taillights, a modified single-frame radiator grille and identical tailpipes on the V8 and V10 versions.

The  R8 e-tron also came to an end in 2012. The purely electric sports coupe with 381 hp and 820 Nm from two electric motors was never delivered. This was said to be due to problems with the battery technology.

The latest generation of the Audi R8 with a V10 engine borrowed directly from Lamborghini with over 600 hp showed even more clearly that the combustion engine is far from dead…
